Exposition temporaire

Presented at the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum in Bremen and the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin in 2025, this exhibition can be discovered in France at the Musée Camille Claudel starting in September 2026.

It brings together the works of two artists whose paths crossed several times in Paris at the turn of the 20th century: Camille Claudel and Bernhard Hoetger. Both were united in their quest for recognition and their desire to emancipate themselves from the influence of the master of sculpture, Auguste Rodin. In 1905, the works of the French sculptor were exhibited in the gallery of the dealer Eugène Blot, alongside those of the German artist, who was ten years her junior. Amidst the avant-garde, each developed a unique artistic vibrancy, whose influence extended beyond borders. More than 120 years later, these two major figures of sculpture are reunited once again.
